Dear Beloved Beach Church Believers And Beyond,

Welcome to Today's Daily Redemption Bible Blast Bulletin! The Book of Job is amazing and powerful and unique in ways you may not have known. Here are a few of them: Bad things happen to good people: It shows a person presented by God as truly good and a faithful servant who ends up suffering without any explanation from God, which went against ancient beliefs. God likes honest questions: God gets angry at the friends who gave fake, easy answers. He praises Job for being honest about his anger. God hates pretense and hypocrisy. However He can work with you on doubt, unbelief and anger that is honest. No clear answer is given: When God finally speaks, He never explains why Job suffered. He just shows how big the universe is and His majesty compared to humans. It is actually the best answer. It uses obscure words: It has 145 mystery words used nowhere else in the Bible, like Mazzaroth (a group of stars) and Gvina (cheese) and Zechuchith (זְכוּכִית): Used in Job 28:17. The book says that true wisdom is so valuable that gold and "Zechuchith" cannot equal it. It means something clear and beautiful, like pure glass or crystal It flips an old story: It takes a simple, happy fairy tale and stuffs it full of deep, serious poetry. Below are links to three posts covering Job 10-12, 16-18 and 37-39 which dig deeply into the meaning of Job and corroborating scripture and how the oldest book in the Bible still has steep relevance for our lives today.
