Mercy in the Depths of Despair Out of the depths I cry to You, Lord — not from strength, but from surrender. Mercy reaches deeper than failure — redemption begins where we bottom out.
“Out of the depths I cry to You, Lord.” — Psalm 130:1 “My foot slips — but Your mercy holds me up.” — Psalm 94:18 “We are hard pressed — but not crushed.” — 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 “Do not set aside God’s grace — for if righteousness comes through the law, Christ died for nothing.” — Galatians 2:21 “When my heart is overwhelmed — lead me to the rock.” — Psalm 40:1
Lord, we wait for You. Not passively, but #desperately. Lord, we hope for You. Not empty, but expectant. Lord, we cry to You. Not rarely, but constantly. Lord, we need You. Not partially, but fully. Redeem our shame. Redeem our failure. Redeem our past. Redeem our future. Redeem our now. Even now. God hears prayer in the depths — not because we’re good, but because He’s merciful.
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous.” — Luke 5:31–32
