Holy Holy Holy. We welcome you to The Daily Redemption publication for November 9, 2025. Today’s theme: “What if suffering is sacred?” Romans 5 reminds us that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope. 2 Corinthians 4 calls our troubles light and momentary — because they’re achieving eternal glory. Peter urges us to rejoice in suffering, because it aligns us with Christ “But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” in 1 Peter 4:13. And Jesus Himself says in John 16:33: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Romans 5:3–4 “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
🕊️ Devotional Reflection
Suffering is not a detour — it’s a doorway. The Gospel doesn’t sanitize pain; it sanctifies it. In Christ, suffering becomes sacred space: a furnace for hope, a proving ground for perseverance, a mirror of His own passion. We don’t rejoice because of pain — we rejoice through it, knowing it’s not wasted. Every affliction is a seed, every tear a testimony. The cross wasn’t clean — it was holy.
🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus, You did not avoid suffering — You entered it, embraced it, and redeemed it. Teach us to see our trials not as punishment, but as participation. Let our pain be a place of encounter, our wounds a witness to Your healing. Make our suffering sacred, and our endurance fruitful. Amen.
Lyrics from Zeb of Virginia Beach Church:
thanks to Jesus we’re all blessed
He was beaten he got stripes
His skin was hanging loosely from his bones
He was shouted at he was spit at
He was in the crowd but oh so alone
You think you got stress
You don’t know how much you’re blessed
He was God he was man
He was unrecognizable he was betrayed
He was crucified hung out to die
He had no sin as our price he paid
You say whoa whoa whoa my life is so hard
You say whoa whoa whoa I can’t stand it no more
You say whoa whoa whoa this ain’t fair
I say there goes a rich man who thinks he’s poor
You think you got stress
You don’t know how much you’re blessed
This is not a call to celebrate pain — it’s a call to sanctify it. Let your suffering become sacred. Let your endurance become a witness. Let your wounds echo the cross. Lord, make our pain a place of encounter. Amen.
