My Heart Has Found A New Home – Buried to Rise Again
Holy Holy Holy. We welcome you to The Daily Redemption publication for December 15th, 2025.
Scripture –
Romans 6:4 — “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Genesis 7:23 — “Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out… Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.”
Exodus 14:22 — “The Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.”
Ezekiel 36:25–26 — “I will sprinkle clean water on you… I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.”
Devotion Jesus didn’t just enter the water — He entered death. Baptism is not a ritual; it’s a burial. But in Him, burial is not the end. It’s the beginning of resurrection. From Noah’s flood to the Red Sea to Ezekiel’s cleansing, the pattern is clear: water wipes out the old, and God raises the new. In Christ, we are buried to rise again — not just washed, but reborn.
lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church:
from his song My Heart Has Found A New Home…
I was lost but now I’m found
I was blind but now I see
I was walking on rocky ground
but with Jesus, yeah Jesus, yeah Jesus,
I’m saved yeah now I’m free
never really saw the sun shine before
but now I see the Son of the Lord
never saw an angel’s glow
I never believed yet now I know
He reached out for me for oh so long
and now he’s the center of every song
but with Jesus oh yes Jesus
my heart has found a new home
from his song Your Redemptive Love
I knew you not but you knew me
much deeper in my soul
thank you Lord you grabbed the steering wheel
and took absolute control
now a happy man am I
more than I ever dreamt of
for you commandeered my rebellious heart
with your redemptive love
I have been redeemed in You.
from a life of death and lies now I’m living true
oh the wonderous miracles you do
I have been redeemed dear Jesus dear Lord
I am a brand new creature in you in you
Prayer Lord, bury every shadow in us and raise us in Your light. Let us walk in newness of life. Amen.
**Title: “Buried to Rise Again”**
*(A 1.5-minute story—no cues, pure narrative—anchored in death that leads to life)*
—
For months, she barely recognized herself in the mirror.
The woman staring back was hollow—drowning in routines, regrets, and a quiet shame she couldn’t name. She kept going through the motions, but inside, everything felt… buried. Under expectations. Under silence. Under the weight of a past she couldn’t outrun.
She’d tried to clean up her life a hundred times.
But every effort just dug the hole deeper.
Then, one rain-soaked Sunday, she stood waist-deep in a baptismal pool—not because she had it all figured out, but because she finally admitted she never could.
As the water closed over her, it wasn’t just a symbol.
It was surrender.
Burial.
And in that moment, something ancient stirred:
*Just as Christ was raised… so you too may live a new life.*
It didn’t fix everything overnight.
But the next morning, when her alarm rang, she didn’t groan and scroll into numbness.
She sat up. Took a breath.
Felt, for the first time in years—light.
Not because she’d changed herself…
but because Someone had reached into the tomb of her heart and said, *“Come out.”*
Now, when she walks through her old neighborhood—the same streets where she once felt unseen—she walks differently.
Not perfect. But free.
Not untouched by pain, but no longer defined by it.
The flood came.
The sea parted.
The old was washed away.
And from the waters, a new heart beat.
She sings softly in the car:
*“I was lost but now I’m found… my heart has found a new home.”*
Because she wasn’t just cleaned.
She was reborn.
Buried…
to rise again.
