In Genesis chapter 5, we find the genealogy from Adam to Noah. While it may seem like a mere list of names, there is a Messianic perspective hidden within. This genealogy traces the line from Adam, the first man, to Noah, the righteous one who found favor in the eyes of the Lord. As we read these names, we are reminded of the fallen state of humanity due to sin, but also of God’s plan for redemption. Each generation brings us closer to the ultimate promise of a Savior, Jesus Christ, who will one day come to save humanity from sin and bring hope for eternal life. This genealogy points to the fulfillment of God’s promise through Jesus, providing a glimmer of hope in the midst of a fallen world
