Headline: Man Finds His True Home in God’s Plan in Scripture (1 Peter)
📖 Scripture (NIV)
Primary: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession…” — 1 Peter 2:9
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” — Galatians 3:26–28
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10
✨ Devotional
Identity is not fragile or forgotten — it is secured in Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 declares that we are chosen, royal, holy, and His possession. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us of hope and a future. Galatians 3:26–28 proclaims unity in Christ that transcends division. Ephesians 2:10 affirms we are God’s handiwork, created for purpose.
When the world forgets, God remembers. When the world excludes, God includes. Belonging is not earned; it is bestowed. Stand firm today in the truth: you are chosen, you are loved, you belong.
LYRICS from Zeb of Virginia Beach Church:
From “Hallelujah, The Kingdom Come”
God is in the jungle
God is by the sea
God is in the faces
of the people in the town passing by me
God is in the city
God is in the slums
God is in the crowded streets
and we saw the kingdom come
God is in each stranger
God is everywhere
God is in the White House
yes even found Him there
hallelujah the kingdom come
hallelujah the kingdom come
praise God the Father, Praise God The Son
hallelujah the kingdom come
God is in the subway
God is in the market place
God is there when we’re not looking
you will meet Him face to face
Prayer: Lord, thank You for reminding us that our identity is rooted in You. Help us to walk boldly as Your chosen people, living out the good works You prepared for us. Amen.
