Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Tuesday, February 24, 2026 — where we name the cat-shaped hole in our hearts and discover that Jesus doesn’t rush our sorrow—He moves into it.
Scripture:
Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Isaiah 61:3 To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Devotional Core:
Freedom isn’t the absence of grief. It’s knowing your sorrow has a home—in the heart of God. You still cry. You still reach for a purr that’s gone silent. You still feel the weight of that empty space. But here’s the quiet miracle: Jesus doesn’t ask you to “get over it.” He kneels in the ashes with you. And slowly—gently—He begins to fill that cat-shaped hole – not with distraction, but with His presence. That’s the freedom: to love deeply, to grieve fully, and still be held completely.
Opening Worship Lyrics From Zeb of Virginia Beach and theholygospel.net
from his song “Jesus Saved My Life Again”
Jesus saved my life again, Beyond that I can’t explain,
To heavenly peace from sharpest pain, Jesus saved my life again.
from his song “Lord Help Me Live The Righteous Life”
i stumble i tumble i rise again
this road is rocky but i’ll reach the end
Lord help me live this righteous life
pierce through my darkness with your Holy light
I’m slippin and slidin but I’m holding tight
Lord help me live this righteous life
from his song “Troubles We Bring To Thee”
These troubles so heavy we might drown
they haunt us and drag us down
may we put them on your altar?
These troubles we bring to thee
dear Lord please set us free from
These Troubles we bring to thee
oh Jesus you are so gracious
dear Lord you have done so much I see
but still you stand faithful and ready to help us with
These troubles we bring to thee
Prayer:
Lord, this grief is real. This loss is deep. But You are deeper. You never hurry me through this pain. You just stay near. Let Your presence be the warmth where theirs used to be. And let me trust that even this sorrow is a place You call “home.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Visual Direction:
Anonymous figure sitting alone on a porch at dawn, hand resting on an empty space beside them. Soft golden light spills across the floorboards. A single feather or collar tag rests nearby. Back to viewer. No face. Quiet companionship in absence.

You still miss him.
Every day.
In the quiet moments, in the routines, in the silence where his purr used to be.
And that’s okay.
Because Jesus didn’t say, “Stop grieving.”
He said, “I will not leave you as orphans.”
Your tears aren’t faithlessness.
They’re love—spoken in a language only heaven understands.
So let yourself feel it.
And let Him hold you through it.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…” — Psalm 34:18
