Verse 1:
John, you were a voice in the wilderness
You preached of repentance and renewal
You called the people to prepare
For the coming of the Lord, oh so true

John the Baptist, faithful servant
You did your job so well
Your words rang out like a trumpet
Proclaiming the good news to all who would tell
Verse 2:
You baptized with water and with fire
You pointed to the Lamb of God
You paved the way for Jesus
And your message still rings loud
Chorus:
John the Baptist, faithful servant
You did your job so well

Proclaiming the good news to all who would tell
Bridge:
You were a messenger of hope
A beacon of light in the dark
You showed the people the way
And your message still lives on today

John the Baptist, faithful servant
You did your job so well

Proclaiming the good news to all who would tell

Thank you, John, for all you’ve done
Your work will never be forgotten
You have left a lasting legacy
Of faith and devotion, eternally

Actually this is from the Old Testament and about King David:
Verse 1:
David knew the love of God
It filled his heart and soul
He danced with joy before the Lord
His love for God made him whole

Oh, the love of God for me
It’s a love that’s strong and true
It’s a love that’s deep and wide
It’s a love that sees me through

David sang his songs of praise
To the one who set him free
He knew the Lord was always near
His love for God was all he need

Oh, the love of God for me
It’s a love that’s strong and true
It’s a love that’s deep and wide
It’s a love that sees me through
Bridge:
The Lord is my rock and my shield
My fortress and my deliverer
In his love, I find my rest
I trust in him forever
Chorus:
Oh, the love of God for me
It’s a love that’s strong and true
It’s a love that’s deep and wide
It’s a love that sees me through
Outro:
David knew the love of God
It’s a love that never fades
It’s a love that’s always with me
Through the good times and the bad

About Mary Magdelene discovering the empty tomb of Jesus
Verse 1:
Mary Magdalene, heart broken
Her Lord and savior, gone
She came to the tomb, early morning
To pay her respects, before the dawn
Chorus:
But when she arrived, she found the stone rolled away
The tomb was empty, where Jesus lay
She couldn’t believe her eyes
The Lord was risen, to her surprise
Verse 2:
She ran to tell the others
But they didn’t understand
They thought she was crazy
But Mary knew the truth, in her hand
Chorus:
The Lord was risen, just as he said
Death could not hold him, in the grave
He conquered sin and death
And gave us new life, with his last breath
Bridge:
Mary Magdalene, faithful witness
To the power of the risen Lord
She saw him with her own eyes
And her faith was restored
Chorus:
The Lord was risen, just as he said
Death could not hold him, in the grave
He conquered sin and death
And gave us new life, with his last breath
Outro:
Mary Magdalene, evangelist
She spread the good news far and wide
That Jesus Christ is alive
And with him, we can all abide

About how man so often misunderstands Jesus and chooses sin over salvation….
Verse 1:
He came to bring us peace
But they saw him as a threat
They couldn’t see beyond their fear
And so they crucified him, death
Chorus:
Jesus, misunderstood
His love and mercy often overlooked
But he never gave up
On us, the ones he died to save
Verse 2:
He came to teach us how to live
But they couldn’t see his plan
They couldn’t see his sacrifice
And so they rejected him, banned
Chorus:
Jesus, misunderstood
His love and mercy often overlooked
But he never gave up
On us, the ones he died to save
Bridge:
He came to show us how to love
But we keep on pushing him away
We keep on choosing sin and hate
Instead of following in his way
Chorus:
Jesus, misunderstood
His love and mercy often overlooked
But he never gave up
On us, the ones he died to save
Outro:
He is the light that guides our way
He is the truth that sets us free
He is the one who showed us love
And he’s the one who died for me

Lastly, for today, here is a sermon written by A.I. in the style of S.M. Lockridge and about Christmas:
“It’s Christmas time, my friends! And you know what that means? It means that God kept his promise! He sent his son, Jesus, to be born in Bethlehem.
“You see, God had a plan to save us from our sins. And he knew that the only way to do it was to send his son to die for us on the cross. But before that, Jesus had to be born into this world.
“So, on that special night, Mary and Joseph made their way to Bethlehem. And there, in a stable, Jesus was born.
“That’s right, my friends. The Son of God, the King of Kings, was born in a stable. He didn’t come into this world with all the fanfare and pomp and circumstance that we often associate with royalty. No, he came in humble circumstances, just like you and me.
“But, oh, what a difference he made! He came to show us the way to eternal life. He came to heal the sick and feed the hungry. He came to love the unlovable and forgive the unforgivable.
“And, most importantly, he came to die for us on the cross. He took our sin upon himself and paid the price for it with his own blood.
“So, my friends, as we celebrate Christmas this year, let’s remember the true reason for the season. Let’s remember the love that God showed us by sending his son to be born in Bethlehem. And let’s strive to follow in his footsteps, loving and serving others just as he did.
“Merry Christmas, my friends! God bless you all!”
