In Genesis chapter 12, we encounter the call of Abram (later known as Abraham) by God. This passage holds a Messianic perspective as it marks the beginning of God’s covenant with Abraham and his descendants. God promises to bless him and make his descendants into a great nation. Through Abraham’s lineage, the promised Messiah will eventually come into the world. This chapter highlights God’s faithfulness to His chosen people and His plan to bring salvation to all nations through the coming of Jesus Christ. It sets the stage for the unfolding of God’s redemptive plan and the fulfillment of His promises in the person of the Messiah, who will bless the whole world.
