In Genesis chapter 12, we encounter the call of Abram (later known as Abraham) by God. This passage holds a Messianic perspective as it marks the beginning of God’s covenant with Abraham and his descendants. God promises to bless him and make his descendants into a great nation. Through Abraham’s lineage, the promised Messiah will eventually come into the world.
