Devotional

God calls us to be strong—but never self-sufficient. Scripture holds a holy tension between personal responsibility and complete dependence on the Lord. We are expected to stand, to act, and to endure, yet always with the awareness that true strength does not originate within us. When we rely only on ourselves, strength eventually runs dry. But when our effort is joined to God’s power, weakness becomes the place where His strength is most clearly displayed. This year, the goal is not to prove how strong you are, but to learn how deeply you can rely on Him while faithfully doing what He has placed before you.

lyrics from Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “yell yell at the devil”

shout out loud and be clear
yell yell at the devil
stand against evil stand without fear
what a creepy cowardly monster
tries to gain traction in our souls
tries to poison our minds
and by deception take control
but we are bigger with righteous swords
we rebuke his evil schemes
in the full armor of the Lord
not tainted be, we are redeemed

from his song “Broken No Longer”
Broken no longer I’m growing stronger
New creature in Christ forever changed
Broken no longer I’m growing stronger
By his precious blood in his precious name

from his song “Your Love Is All I Need”

No more do I sing about the depths of my sorrow
no more do I sing about regrets of the past
no more do I sing about fears of tomorrow
no more do I sing about things that don’t last
I am at home in the love of the Lord
Day by day I can more feel the connection

from his song “Ain’t No Man”

Ain’t no man of weak disposition
Ain’t no man timid and weak
Ain’t no man who cowers and trembles
Ain’t no man can’t stand on his own two feet

push me down and you will see
more than you expected returned to thee
the Lord has made me strong
and strong I am and strong I will be

Prayer

Lord, teach me how to walk in strength without pride and dependence without passivity. Help me do my part faithfully while trusting You fully. When I am weak, remind me that Your strength is enough. Amen.

YouTube Description

True strength is found in learning how to stand while relying fully on the Lord. Scripture teaches us to act with courage and responsibility, yet never apart from God’s sustaining power. This Daily Redemption reflects on the balance between doing our part and trusting God to supply the strength we lack.
