2 Corinthians 4:7 — “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
1 Timothy 1:15–16 — “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst… But for that very reason I was shown mercy.”
Acts 4:13 — “When they saw the courage of Peter and John… they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
Romans 8:28 — “In all things God works for the good of those who love him…”
Isaiah 6:5–7 — “Woe is me!… Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal… and touched my mouth.”
Matthew 28:19–20 — “Go and make disciples… And surely I am with you always.”
You don’t need to be perfect to serve the Lord—you just need to be surrendered. God doesn’t wait for flawless vessels; He fills broken ones with His Spirit and sends them anyway. Peter denied Christ—then preached to thousands. Paul persecuted the church—then built it. Your past isn’t a barrier; it’s proof that grace transforms. Rise not because you’re strong, but because He is faithful. Speak not because you’re worthy, but because His truth is.
lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach
from his song “I’m Coming Home To Lord Jesus”
I repent. I’ve turned around.
No more walkin’ on rocky ground
I offer forgiveness
in your holy name.
No longer lost, comin home again
Victory is mine. I will never be the same
because I’m Comin’ Home To Lord Jesus
from his song “Lord Here I Am”
first thing in the mornin when I’m still in bed
first thought that always comes to my heart and to my head
put my hand on my heart and still my mind
and I listen to your voice so serene and sublime
one thing I ask of thee at the start of every day
how can I lend a hand what part should I play?
where should I go? what should I do?
what should I say and to whom?
Lord, here I am
from his song “Lord, Hear My Heart”
Lord hear my heart
and the words I say
Lord teach me how
to live and pray
to be in your favor
show me the way
To honor you
and here I’ll stay
forever and ever
that we may be
ever closer together
That’s my only plea
let things of this world
dim and fade
Lord you and me
this glorious day
from his song “Thy Kingdom Come”
everything we say
every chord we strum
proclaims thy kingdom come
when we stand alone
when we are far from home
when we are about to succumb we
proclaim thy kingdom come
and from his song “Your Name We Proclaim”
Your name we proclaim, Jesus!
Lord, use my brokenness to magnify Your grace. Let my voice carry Your truth, not my reputation. Make me bold—not because I’ve arrived, but because You live in me. Amen.
Painterly vertical image: golden-hour light on a weathered wooden windowsill, a simple clay jar with a single wildflower blooming from it, distant church steeple visible through the glass—beauty in brokenness, purpose in weakness; no darkness, no text, no shadows.
