Why Grace Makes Us Want To Work Harder
Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Wednesday, February 25, 2026 — where we explore the beautiful paradox: those who know salvation is wholly grace are the ones who labor most joyfully in God’s Word and His mission.
Opening Worship Lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “Ready For The Work Of Heaven” a whimsical worship song by Zeb
Ready For the Work of Heaven – Ready for whatever God needs done
Ready For the Work of Heaven – Sure as the night is followed by the rising sun
Gonna cut the grass on Heaven’s lawn, gonna polish the streets of gold and see them shine
Gonna restring the harps so they sound so sweet I’ll be smilin’ while I’m workin’ because I’ll be feeling fine
Scripture:
Ephesians 2:8–10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
2 Corinthians 5:14–15 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.
Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.
Colossians 1:28–29 We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Devotional Core:
Grace doesn’t make us lazy—it makes us free to serve. When you truly believe you’re saved not by effort but by mercy, something shifts: you don’t read the Bible to earn favor—you read it because you’ve found favor. You don’t share the Gospel to prove yourself—you share it because you’ve been loved beyond reason.
The harder you grasp grace, the more you want others to taste it. Not out of duty—but delight. Not to be seen—but because you’ve seen Him.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that my standing isn’t based on how much I do—but on what You’ve already done. Now, let that truth propel me—not pressure me. Give me hunger for Your Word. Give me courage to speak Your name. Not to earn Your love, but because I’m already drowning in it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Wednesday, February 25, 2026 — where we explore the beautiful paradox: those who know salvation is wholly grace are the ones who labor most joyfully in God’s Word and His mission.
It’s not contradiction—it’s response.
When you realize you didn’t earn grace…
you can’t help but tell someone.
When you see how deeply you’ve been loved…
you open your Bible like a love letter.
Grace doesn’t breed laziness.
It breeds longing.
Longing to know Him more.
To share Him freely.
Because once you’ve tasted mercy,
silence feels like theft.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works…” — Ephesians 2:10
