We Ain’t Perfect But Thank God We’re Saved – DR 28 Feb 26

Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Friday, February 27, 2026 — where we stop pretending faith means perfection, and start living in the honest tension between what’s been won and what’s not yet fully here.
Opening Theme-Based Worship Lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church

from his song – I Ain’t Perfect (But I’m Saved)

I got problems could make a grown man cri
And I fall short though God you know I try
Walkin in worn out boots on roads unpaved
Well I ain’t perfect but I’m saved

No I ain’t perfect but I’m saved X 2
It’s only Jesus that made me brave, I claimed one honest moment before the grave
cuz I ain’t perfect but now I’m saved
yeah i’m saved, saved, saved (say it again)
saved saved saved, saved, saved!

Aint nothin I could do, my salvation Lord is all on you
your loving grace your faith so true
my blood ain’t never been praised
let me tell ya, I ain’t perfect but I’m saved

He reached out to me, He’ll do the same for you
Step out of His way, that’s all ya gotta do to let him through

You got problems give Jesus a try Just gotta pray, He’s standin by
Get off that crooked road and follow his way
You ain’t perfect but you can be saved

No you ain’t perfect but you can be saved X 2
step on up be honest and brave, claim one honest moment before the grave
you ain’t perfect but you can be saved

Romans 8:22–23 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

Acts 14:22 They strengthened the disciples and encouraged them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.

Salvation isn’t a magic shield from suffering—it’s a promise that suffering won’t have the final word. Yes, believers get sick. Yes, saints die. Yes, some stumble into prison, addiction, despair. That doesn’t mean grace failed. It means we’re still in the already—but not yet. Jesus wept at a tomb—even though He knew He’d raise Lazarus. Why? Because grief belongs in the story. Faith isn’t denial. It’s saying, “This hurts—and God is still good.” We don’t grieve without hope. But we do grieve. And that’s okay.
Lord, I see the mess. The sickness. The loss. The failure. Don’t let me pretend it’s not real. But don’t let me lose hope either. Hold my grief. Strengthen my weak faith. And remind me: resurrection is coming—but until then, You’re here in the ache. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Friday, February 27, 2026 — where we stop pretending faith means perfection, and start living in the honest tension between what’s been won and what’s not yet fully here. Yeah, we’re saved. But we still get sick. Saints still die. Brothers still fall. And that’s not hypocrisy—that’s humanity. Jesus didn’t promise a pain-free life. He promised His presence in the pain. We grieve—but not like those with no hope. We struggle—but not alone. Because the same God who raised Lazarus wept at his grave. So bring your questions. Bring your doubts. Just don’t bring your pretense. Text on screen: “We groan inwardly as we wait…” — Romans 8:23. Dig deeper with more scripture, devotional content, and even song lyrics—and to pray and praise the Lord with us at The Daily Redemption Bible Bulletins, home of scripture-centered stories at theholygospel.net. If this gave you permission to be honest before God, we’d be honored if you’d like and subscribe—then join us again tomorrow. And as always, have a blessed day in the Lord.
If Christians are “saved,” why do they still suffer, die, and fail? In this Daily Redemption devotional, confront the raw reality of life in the “already-but-not-yet” — where grace is real, but brokenness remains. Rooted in Romans 8:22–23 and John 11:35, this reflection honors honest grief, human frailty, and the hope that holds us through sorrow, not above it. Visit theholygospel.net for more devotionals, original worship music by Zeb of Virginia Beach, and daily truth that anchors the soul. If this reminded you that faith includes tears—and that’s okay—please like, subscribe, and share with someone tired of religious performance. Have a blessed day in the Lord.
