“Where Did I Put My Salvation? I Can’t Find It Anywhere” – DRBBB 27 March ’26

“Where Did I Put My Salvation? I Can’t Find It Anywhere”
Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Friday 27 March 2026 — where we name the terror of feeling spiritually lost and remember that salvation isn’t a possession you can misplace—it’s a Person who never lets go.

Featured Scripture And Commentary
2 Timothy 2:13 if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.

When you start getting past a certain age and I assure you I am more interested in the Rock Of Ages than the age of rocks as a wise man once said (William Jennings Bryan – the prosecutor at the Scopes Creation vs Evolution trial), but as I often do, I begin by digressing. So….rewind…. when you are entering your 60s losing things becomes a lifestyle. Multiple daily self-frisks and padding downs are required lest one become a non-person in our present society by losing our phones, wallets, keys, etc. You spend a lot of time looking back where you were to make sure you didn’t discard something that you desperately need. But this is NOT the case with salvation. In fact, the Lord’s power becomes strongest in our weakness including the weakness of old age. If we are to believe that by adopting errant ways we can loose our salvation then we are accepting that salvation is not by faith through grace but instead by works. Yet we know that our most righteous moments shine dimly in comparison to the Lord’s holy light. Although Paul did say to work (live) out our salvation with “fear and trembling” (awe not terror) Phil 2:12-13 he did not mean that our works procure salvation. He was saying live the righteous life not to be saved but because we are saved. Yet there is an even greater pairing of scripture with the 2 Timothy quote and that is Galations 2:20… “”With Christ I have been crucified, yet I live—no longer I, but Christ lives in me…” (Greek literal version). So here we go…. if we no longer own who we are and so our personalities are just a flavoring or apparel as Christ lives in us,then who amongst us can dismiss what we no longer own. I suppose we could pray to be loosed but it would not be God’s will and would require strong enough faith to enable us to believe in prayer. also it is metaphysically, theologically and logically impossible. However because Christ lives in us the flavor we add has the potential to be better than that of the best creations of the best chefs of Paris (assuming you enjoy french cuisine) and our apparel is not some freaky weird walkway garb that nobody ever wears in the real world but the closest we come to a glorified body while still we still have flesh hanging on our bones and we emanate life no longer death. So in closing… you can lose your keys, wallet, your phone – not your salvation. It is not yours to lose – it is His and He didn’t get scammed – He knew you from the womb and He knew you and the worst of your ways and He decided to love and save you anyway and you are His. Get used to it. Live it out and rejoice in your blessings..

Romans 8:38–39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 10:28–29 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

Isaiah 49:15–16 Can a mother forget the baby at her breast? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands.

You woke up and it was gone. The peace. The certainty. The sense that God was near. Now you’re searching drawers of your soul like you misplaced your keys—Where did I leave my salvation? Here’s the truth your panic can’t hear right now: you didn’t lose it. Salvation isn’t a feeling you carry—it’s a promise He keeps. You can’t feel His grip, but that doesn’t mean His hand opened. Even when you wander, He remains faithful. Even when you doubt your salvation, He doesn’t doubt His hold on you. The Father doesn’t disown His children because they stumble in the dark. So stop searching for what was never lost. Just whisper His name. That’s enough. He’ll meet you there—not because you found Him, but because He never left and He never can. Not anymore than we can walk away from our own skin.
Lord, I’m scared. I can’t feel You. I can’t find the peace I once knew. But right now—I choose to believe Your promise over my panic. You said nothing can separate me from Your love. So I trust that—even when I feel utterly alone. Hold me while I can’t hold on. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
