Romans 8:1 — “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
2 Corinthians 3:17 — “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Titus 2:11–12 — “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives…”
1 John 1:9 — “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Hebrews 10:22 — “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings…”
Galatians 5:13 — “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
Guilt keeps us chained to the past; grace propels us into holiness. The kingdom of Jesus has no throne for shame—only a cross where condemnation died. True grace doesn’t produce license; it produces longing. When we grasp how deeply we’re forgiven, we don’t want to sin—we want to honor the One who bore our sin. This isn’t moralism; it’s worship. Freedom isn’t permission to wander—it’s power to walk worthy.
lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “Go To Church Anyway”
If you got drunk again tonight,
if you just can’t get it right
if you’re angry and can’t just let it go
come Sunday, go to church anyway
if your spouse ain’t your only or your heart’s always lonely
or if pronouns present a problem to you
Come Sunday, go to church anyway
it’s a place for the broken, the lost and confused,
the lonely, the lustful and the abused
Jesus ate with sinners and He’ll break bread with you
so come next Sunday here’s the thing to do
Go to church anyway
Jesus is the truth, the life, the way
we’ll laugh, we’ll sing, we’ll cry, we’ll pray
So come Sunday, go to church anyway
Are you wandering? Without a home?
Come to Jesus, you’ll be no longer alone
Come on sinner, come on home!
if you’re tired and you’re weary and
your eyesight is blurred and bleary
if you’re walkin on rocky ground
and you’ve gone astray
come Sunday, go to church anyway
from his song “Your Redemptive Love”
I have been redeemed in You.
from a life of death and lies
now I’m living true
I’m a brand new creature in You
and Your redemptive love
Lord, tear down every altar of guilt in my heart. Let me live not to earn Your love, but because I already have it. Make my holiness a response, not a requirement. Amen.

“No Room for Guilt”
JASMINE used to scrub her conscience raw every Sunday—
confessing sins, re-confessing sins, wondering if God was tired of her.
Then she read Romans 8:1: “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Not “less.” Not “if you try harder.”
None.
She sat still. Let it sink in.
And something shifted—not her behavior first, but her heart.
She didn’t run to sin.
She ran to holiness—not out of fear, but gratitude.
“You forgave me completely? Then I want to live like You’re worth it.”
Guilt says, “You’re bad.”
Grace says, “You’re loved—now walk like it.”
“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” — 2 Corinthians 3:17
