A World Without Him Whom To Believeth On Which Makes Us Whomsoevers

Welcome to today’s Daily Redemption — where we imagine the silence and visceral darkness that would fill our world if He who made us”whomsoever”s had never come.

Note: What we have here is Scripture, the blue/purple font in the image or the italics in the printed text (and lyrics when included and not otherwise noted) is written by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church and the other black text is AI generated.
Opening Worshipful Lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “Lord Of My Soul”
Lord of my Soul
Let your love give us love
Let your hope give us hope.
Let your peace give us peace.
Lord of My Soul.
whenever I am alone remind me I am never alone in You
when I am far away from home remind me I am always at home with You

Featured Scripture and Commentary:
Colossians 1:16–17 For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

I had a dream last night in the wee hours of the morning. I was in the hospital recovering and singing How Great Thou Art with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. The others around me, also softly singing while I was belting out looked at me amazed. One said “I guess you are feeling better”. I looked around, embarassed that I had attracted so much attention and I responded “that was yet not I but through Christ in me (Gal. 2:20) and yes, in fact I have never felt better than I do right now.” Thank you Lord for the lovely confirmation of my home and my heart being in Him. Lord re my nocturnal dreams – more of these please is my prayer. But let’s cue Rod Serling’s omnipresence opener to a different story, a different world – one not quite day nor night but definitely dark, viscerally dark. In this fantasy drama we consider, in this Joyous and yet deathly serious Holiday season of remembrance and worship, What if we were not “whomsoevers” because there was none to believeth on? What if Jesus had never set the world on Holy fire? What if George Bailey had never been born in “It’s A Wonderful Life” but what if it cast that darkness on all souls throughout this world and the gates to heaven had been never opened? What if the gates of hell had prevailed over the darkness. This is an invitation for your own meditation but I will give you a few things to consider. Do you love Western music? There would be NONE. Most American music including rock’n’roll was born in the slave-tended plantations where they were singing hymns to the Lord. Perhaps the world’s greatest and certainly it’s most embraced hymn was born on a slave trade boat when the captain of the boat heard the slaves singing the melody while rowing the oars every waking hour and sitting in excrement, fell to his knees and in a moment, as Paul on the Road to Damascus was “lost, now found. blind, now seeing through Amazing Grace”. let’s go back further, Handl wrote “The Messiah” and he inspired every one of the legendary names of the classical music still cherished today. OK.. NO music as we have known it “check”! No Christmas “check”! How much more corrupt would our “government leaders” be if they weren’t made to swear their oath with a hand on the Bible (even if one declined to do so while posing as a savior of Christians while saying he had nothing to ask the Lord for forgiveness for). You think Hollywood, Netflix and the music industry (which is known to do Satanic rituals) could not be darker? What if E Island was not the island but the ocean? What if criminals were flooding into the USA and when they committed crimes they were set free over and over again. What rule of what law? The only law might be the 10 Commandments and the Levittical laws of God but would there still be even a remnant of Jews? Do you think World War 2 might have ended differently without the light of the world that suddenly burned bright in those darkest days of 1945? What if Jesus had not given courage and discernment to the sailor on the Russian sub off the East Coast of the US in the 1980s who didn’t blindly followed orders but demanded verification which never came. Folks, without Jesus, chances are slim that we would be here at all! This Easter Sunday consider these things and so much more. We “whomsoevers” have the world to thank Jesus for and whatever light is still in it. Be not ashamed of your faith but proclaim it to all nations as we are directed to do by Jesus. Why do you think He has not come back yet, although it could happen today? He is on his own timetable and determined to save every last soul that can be salvaged before the great and terrible Day of the Lord. Give praise to the Lord for he is good. His love and faithfulness endure forever. Amen.

Scripture:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

note the next two scriptures are Isaiah from the Old Testament in his strongest Messianic zone.

Isaiah 49:6
“I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”
Isaiah 55:1
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”

Homily:
Picture a world without Jesus.
No “whomsoevers” because there is no Son to believeth on. Just locked doors. No empty tomb. No one to say “Neither do I condemn you.” Art without the cross. Music without grace. And you — without an advocate.
Billions live this way today: in Jesus’ shadow, but rejecting the Light. The emptiness remains. The darkness is visceral.
But because He came for us “whomsoevers” who believeth on Him, the gates swings wide — for the addict, the arrogant, the ashamed. You don’t clean up first. You just come. Just like the hymn “Just As I Am”
Without Him, “whosoever” becomes “no one.” With Him, it includes you. That’s the hinge of history.

Prayer:
Lord, shake me awake to the magnitude of “whomsoever.” Forgive any times of casual faith — treating Your coming as background noise rather than the earthquake that split history in two. Anchor me in this: without You, no hope. With You, hope for anyone who calls Your name. As the saying goes: No Jesus, No Peace – Know Jesus, Know Peace” In Jesus’ name, the people shout “Amen”.

What if Jesus never came? In this Daily Redemption reflection, sit with the reality of a world — and a soul — without the “whosoever” of John 3:16. Not to frighten, but to awaken gratitude for the One who stepped into our darkness so no one faces eternity alone. Visit theholygospel.net for more devotionals and original worship music by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church. If this reminded you that “whosoever” includes you, share it with someone who needs to hear there’s still room at the cross. Have a blessed day in the Lord.
