Jesus Wept – What It Means That Our God Suffered And Weeped
Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Wednesday, March 4, 2026 — where we sit in the sacred silence of Jesus’ tears and discover that our God doesn’t just fix our pain—He enters it.
John 11:35 Jesus wept.
Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Jesus didn’t weep because He was powerless. He wept because He loved deeply. At Lazarus’ tomb, He knew He would raise him—yet still, His heart broke. That changes everything. It means your grief isn’t a sign of weak faith—it’s a sacred space where God draws near. Your tears aren’t ignored; they’re gathered. Your sorrow isn’t a problem to be solved; it’s a doorway for divine companionship. A God who weeps with you isn’t distant, disappointed, or demanding. He’s present. He’s tender. And He refuses to let you suffer alone. In a world that glorifies strength, Christ glorifies solidarity—and His tears prove that love stays, even when answers don’t come.
Lord, thank You for not standing above my pain—but kneeling in it with me. When I feel abandoned in my sorrow, remind me: You wept too. Not to fix it from afar, but to hold me in the middle of it. Let Your tears wash away my shame for feeling deeply. And let me trust that if You cried here, You’ll wipe every tear there. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
