Today’s headline is When the World Plays Dirty: Holding Fast to Love in a Corrupted Age.
Intro: Thursday, March 19, 2026 — Welcome, friend. Today we anchor our hearts in the love of the Lord when manipulation surrounds us, seeking wisdom for when to stand, when to release, and how to keep our souls clean.
Opening Worship Lyrics By Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “Let There Be Light”

Let there be light X3
so sayeth the Lord X 2
The first words of creation
The same words everyday
so Lord make the path straight and clear
For all have gone astray
For the Lord still loves us all
There ain’t nothing we can do
No matter the darkness fills our world
Gods light will shine on through
There is peace in the light of the Lord
(Let There Be Light)
There is joy in the light of the Lord
(Let There Be Light)
There is hope in the light of the Lord
(Let There Be Light)
There is truth in the light of the Lord
(Let There Be Light) X2

Your word’s a lamp to guide my feet,
Your Son, the light divine.
Through Him we’ll never walk in darkness,
His truth forever shine
repeat this verse
(Repeat last line X4)

Matthew 10:16 — “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” And here is something that might work as a neutral act when the damage is limited and might be acceptable to the other side – In writing declare the facts which are true but which were manipulated by the other party. Then declare to the other party that, with this being done, you are leaving it up to them to consult “their better angels” and that whatever they do will be honored as conflict is not the objective. One is left with peace, wisdom and not feeling like a door mat either. Depending on various factors one might end with “And as always I let you know that you are in my prayers because the best for you is all that is desired.

James 1:5 — “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

Proverbs 4:23 — “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Romans 12:21 — “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Ephesians 6:12 — “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world.”

Matthew 5:44 — “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
Devotional
Sometimes you have to just thank God when you are feeling the corruption of the world but the damage is minimal. When corruption feels rampant and manipulation cuts close, your first defense is not retaliation but revelation: ask God for wisdom, guard your heart, and remember your battle is spiritual. Jesus modeled both grace and boundaries—He forgave freely yet spoke hard truth. You are called to the same balance. Sometimes the most powerful response is to release the outcome to God, pray for the perpetrator, and walk away with integrity intact. Other times, love requires a firm “no” or a wise confrontation. Do not mistake passivity for holiness or vengeance for justice. When damage is minimal, gratitude is a weapon. When harm is significant, seeking righteous resolution is faith in action. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Let His love—not fear or anger—dictate your next step.
Prayer
Lord, in a world of manipulation, fix my eyes on You. Give me discernment to know when to speak, when to act, and when to be still. Guard my heart from bitterness and my hands from retaliation. When wronged, help me respond with wisdom, not weakness; truth, not vengeance. Teach me to pray for those who exploit while setting boundaries that honor You. Let Your love be my compass and Your Spirit my strength. I trust that You see, You know, and You will make a way. Amen.
