How to Be in God’s Favor

How to Be in God’s Favor
Genesis 6:8 — “Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

Proverbs 3:3–4 — “Let love and faithfulness never leave you… then you will win favor and a good name.”

Micah 6:8 — “Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.”

Luke 1:30 — “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.”

Acts 2:47 — “The Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

Favor with God is not about perfection—it’s about posture. Noah wasn’t sinless, but he was surrendered. Mary wasn’t powerful, but she was available. The early church wasn’t polished, but they were obedient. God’s favor flows not to the flawless, but to the faithful—to those who trust Him more than they trust their own performance. It begins with humility, continues in obedience, and rests in grace. You don’t climb to His favor. You kneel into it.

from his song Soften My Heart
SOFTEN MY HEART

My heart’s grown hard Lord
My walk has grown weary
This cross I carry won’t let me go
Set me free Lord
Take my burden
Oh Lord I pray soften my heart

Chorus:
Soften my heart
Oh precious Jesus
Soften my heart
I’ll go with you
Soften my heart
I want to know you
Soften my heart
Soften my heart

Thy humble servant
Stands at your altar
I bend my knees
Outstretch my arms
I pray my heart you
Will come and heal now
Soften my heart dear Jesus
Soften my heart

you are the all in all Lord
all that is righteous comes to glorify you X 3

Centered in your glory
but not yet part of Your story
Fenced in and surrounded
Please break on through
Make these walls tumble
Crash down and crumble
Soften my heart Lord
Soften my heart

Lord, I don’t want to impress You. I want to know You. Keep me low, keep me true, and let Your favor rest on me—not because I’m worthy, but because You are good. Amen.
