Be Careful You Are Not Putting Anything Ahead of God – DR Bible Blast Bulletin Of 21 Feb 26

Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Saturday, February 21, 2026 — where we examine the quiet idols we carry and return every affection to its rightful place: at the feet of Christ.
Scripture:
Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other gods before Me.

Colossians 3:5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Ezekiel 14:3 These men have taken their idols into their hearts… should I indeed let Myself be consulted by them?

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

1 John 5:21
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
Devotional Core:
Idolatry isn’t just statues—it’s anything that gets your first attention, your deepest anxiety, or your quietest devotion. It could be success, safety, a relationship, even ministry. When something becomes more essential to your peace than God Himself, it has become an idol. And idols don’t roar—they whisper. They promise control, comfort, or identity. But only Christ can hold your soul. So ask today: What am I protecting more than my closeness to Him? Then lay it down. Not because it’s evil—but because He is worthy.

lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “This Life Of Worship”

what does it mean to be blinded?
what does it mean to now see?
I now can feel and see your actions and guidance
working through moving through love from you in me!

this life of worship Jesus this life of worship Lord

people say don’t you desire
People say don’t you aspire?
people all want to inquire
why I am so happy as never before.
because i have let go what I don’t need
what I do need they may not see
it’s not on or around or inside of me
because it’s not me that I’m living for

this life of worship this life for you
because you first loved me, Jesus
and oh now how I love you

Prayer:
Lord, search me.
Show me what I’ve quietly placed above You—
my plans, my fears, my reputation, my comfort.
I don’t want divided devotion.
I want You alone.
So take what I’ve clung to,
and give me back my undivided heart.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
