From Conflicted to Convicted to Peace
Isaiah 26:3 — “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Romans 14:23 — “Everything that does not come from faith is sin.”
James 1:8 — “A double-minded man is unstable in all he does.”
Psalm 86:11 — “Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness…”
John 14:27 — “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.”
Proverbs 3:5–6 — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”
Conflict often comes when we straddle two worlds—trying to hold truth in one hand and compromise in the other. But conviction isn’t condemnation; it’s clarity. When we stop negotiating with sin and fully yield to Christ, the inner war quiets. Not because life gets easier—but because our trust lands squarely on Him. And in that surrender, peace isn’t earned; it’s received. It’s not the absence of trouble, but the presence of the Prince of Peace.
Lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “Bottle For The Bible”
the bottle for the Bible
traded in the bottle for the Bible
oh what a trade I made
I let go of sin for salvation
the best hand I ever played
from a world of sin and delusions
of heartbreak, frustration and pain
I surrendered nothing of value
for the love of God I proclaim
traded in the bottle for the Bible
out of darkness into the bright
freed from the grasp of the Devil
now walking in God’s heavenly light
now all that used to disrupt me
leave me tired, confounded, disturbed
and lead me into the bottle
foresaken for peace of God’s Word
traded in the bottle for the Bible
and I make this offer to you
put down the bottle surrender to Jesus
He is waiting to welcome you
put down the bottle surrender to Jesus
He will be there to rescue you
put down the bottle surrender to Jesus
thats all ya gotta do
put down the bottle surrender to Jesus
His light will see you through
from his song I Ain’t Perfect (But I’m Saved)
I got problems could make a grown man cry
And I fall short though God you know I try
Walkin in worn out boots on roads unpaved
Well I ain’t perfect but I’m saved
No I ain’t perfect but I’m saved X 2
It’s only Jesus that made me brave, I claimed one honest moment before the grave
cuz I ain’t perfect but now I’m saved
yeah i’m saved, saved, saved (say it again)
saved saved saved, saved, saved!
Aint nothin I could do, my salvation Lord is all on you
your loving grace your faith so true
my blood ain’t never been praised
let me tell ya, I ain’t perfect but I’m saved
He reached out to me, He’ll do the same for you
Step out of His way, that’s all ya gotta do to let him through
You got problems give Jesus a try Just gotta pray, He’s standin by
Get off that crooked road and follow his way
You ain’t perfect but you can be saved
Lord, silence my divided heart. Give me courage to choose You fully—so I can walk in the peace only Your conviction brings. Amen.
