Every time the Scripture says, “And God said…” we are reminded that Jesus Christ is the Word who went forth. Everything that was created was by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:15-17, John 1:1-3, Hebrews 1:3, 1 Peter 1:20-23).
In Genesis Chapter 2, the creation narrative continues, and we see the formation of the Garden of Eden, a place of beauty and abundance. God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed life into him, making him a living being. God planted the Garden of Eden and placed Adam there to care for it. In this chapter, we find the first mention of the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God declared that it was not good for man to be alone, so He created Eve as a suitable helper and companion for Adam. Throughout the chapter, the significance of God’s spoken word is evident, reminding us that Jesus Christ is the Word through whom all things were created. Every time God speaks, Jesus, the Word, goes forth, and everything created is by Him and for Him.
