When the Bible Feels Heavy – DR Bible Blast Bulletin 9 March ’26

When the Bible Feels Heavy
Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Monday, March 9, 2026 — where we name the quiet struggle of opening Scripture when your heart is tired, your mind is numb, and the words feel distant.
Opening Worship Lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
From his song Buried In The Bible

I been a late bloomer in so many ways
now I find Jesus when I’m 58
Now He’s become priority one
a new page of my life has begun

so if you’re lookin for me you’ll find me
buried in the Bible all day long

from “in the beginning” to the last “amen”
from proverbs and psalms all the way to the end
it’s all so amazing and each day I renew
into a new man standing in front of you

whatever I been into it’s been all the way
but with each of those passions I was goin astray
but nothing’s like this new path that I’m on
because praise God I’m doin like young Jesus done

some day they will bury us in our graves
so let’s stay centered in the Lord with each passing day
will you be ready if you were to die tonight?
Let’s stay in the presence of God’s reading light
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Jeremiah 15:16 When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight.

Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Some days, the Bible doesn’t feel like a feast—it feels like a chore. You know you should read it. You love what it is. But your heart is dry, your focus is scattered, and the words blur into obligation. That’s not failure—it’s honesty. And God isn’t offended by your weariness. He meets you there. Scripture isn’t a test to pass; it’s a well to drink from—even if you only sip. You don’t have to “perform” devotion. Just show up. Open it. Let one verse land. Because even when you don’t feel it, His Word is still working—shaping, healing, reminding you that you’re not alone in your silence.
Lord, today I’m tired. My soul feels dull. I believe Your Word is true—but I don’t feel its warmth. Meet me anyway. Don’t let my dryness become distance. Help me trust that even five minutes with You matters. And remind me: You’re not waiting for perfect attention—just an open heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
