Is the Pursuit of Scientific Wisdom Godly?

Proverbs 25:2 — “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search it out is the glory of kings.”

Romans 1:20 — “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.”

Psalm 111:2 — “Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.”

Colossians 2:3 — “In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

Isaiah 40:26 — “Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?”

Devotional Core:
Science isn’t opposed to faith—it’s an act of worship when pursued with humility. Every law of physics, every strand of DNA, every galaxy spinning in silence declares: “The Creator is wise.” To study creation is not to replace God—but to kneel before His craftsmanship. The greatest scientists in history—Newton, Kepler, Mendel—didn’t see data as a threat. They saw it as a hymn. True scientific wisdom begins not with “There is no God,” but with “What has He made?” And ends not in pride, but in awe.

lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “With Every Step and Every Breath”
Dear Jesus give us wisdom
Blessed Jesus give us strength
Jesus help us follow you
with every step and every breath
someday we’ll be in heaven
but we ain’t got there yet
so let’s stay centered in Jesus
with every step and every breath

from his song “Tumble, Stumble And Fall”

I choose your wisdom Lord
I choose your grace
I will not move
from this Holy place.
Gonna stand tall
In the Lord’s light that’s all
Gonna stand tall
So I won’t  tumble, stumble or fall

from his song “All Shook Up”
i was so sure i knew so well
but it was all part of a demon’s spell
i was quaking inside but you could never tell
but God you shared your wisdom you saved me from hell

Then I was all shook up when I saw Your face
I was all shook up by Your Amazing Grace
I was all shook up all over the place
I was All shook up

Prayer:
Lord, give me eyes to see Your hand in the atom and the atmosphere.
Let my curiosity lead me deeper into worship—not away from You.
Guard my heart from arrogance.
Fill my mind with wonder.
And may every discovery draw me closer to the One who spoke light into being.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Visual Direction:
Anonymous figure standing on a hill at dawn, looking through a simple telescope toward a sky filled with stars and galaxies. In foreground: open Bible beside a notebook with sketches of orbits and leaves. Warm golden light. Back to viewer. No face. Earth-meets-cosmos aesthetic.
