What Exactly Is the Freedom That Jesus Offers?
Welcome to The Daily Redemption for Tuesday, February 24, 2026 — where we strip away religious illusions and rediscover the real freedom Christ purchased: not escape from suffering, but deliverance from its power.
Scripture:
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Romans 8:1–2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Devotional Core:
Jesus never promised a life without pain. He promised freedom in the middle of it. The world says freedom is control—no sickness, no loss, no limits. But Christ says freedom is belonging—no condemnation, no orphanhood, no final defeat. You still get sick—but you’re not alone. You still face trouble—but you’re not condemned. You still carry burdens—but they don’t define you. Because true freedom isn’t the absence of chains. It’s knowing the One who broke them. And He walks with you—right through the fire.
Opening worship lyrics by Zeb of Virginia Beach Church
from his song “Broken”
am broken I’m shattered ripped torn and tattered
ya i dont wanna sin no more x2
I’m broken I’m ruined most of the time don’t know what am doin but that’s no excuse
i dont wanna sin no more x2
all my misery all my pain it’s self inflicted Noone else to blame but me.
set me free. ya I’m asking. because I’m knowing its dark where I been but hell is where I was goin
without you Jesus. ĝrace is yours to give. and I don’t wanna die i wanna live
in your love in your freedom I know I’m not deserving but I’m asking
because I’m broken if Savin is what you’re still doing then save me because I’m broken
aint got no shiny token I just got dirty rags because I’m broken take me Jesus I’m believing you can be
relieving all my earthly pain make me right again in you it’s all I wanna do stop my sinning be on the side that’s forever winning
with you Jesus with you
from his song – The Bottle For The Bible
traded in the bottle for the Bible oh what a trade I made
I let go of sin for salvation the best hand I ever played
from a world of sin and delusions of heartbreak, frustration and pain
I surrendered nothing of value for the love of God I proclaim
traded in the bottle for the Bible out of darkness into the bright
freed from the grasp of the Devil now walking in God’s heavenly light
now all that used to disrupt me leave me tired, confounded, disturbed
and lead me into the bottle foresaken for peace of God’s Word
Prayer:
Lord, I thought freedom meant ease.
But You showed me it means presence.
When my body fails, remind me: I’m still Yours.
When trouble comes, remind me: You’ve already won.
Let me live today—not in fear of what might happen,
but in the freedom of who You are.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Visual Direction:
Anonymous figure walking through shallow water at dawn, sunlight breaking through storm clouds above. One hand lifted slightly—not in triumph, but in trust. Back to viewer. No face. Warm light on shoulders. Calm amid trial.

We still get sick.
We still face trouble.
Jesus said we would.
But He also said: “In Me, you have peace.”
That’s the freedom:
not immunity from pain—
but intimacy with the One who overcame it all.
You’re not abandoned in your struggle.
You’re held in it.
So walk today—not in fear,
but in the quiet confidence
that nothing can separate you
from His love.
